National Veterinary Accreditation Program
This voluntary National Veterinary Accreditation Program certifies private veterinary practitioners to work cooperatively with Federal veterinarians and State animal health officials. Veterinarians wishing to perform accredited duties in a state other than the state in which they have completed a federal orientation and received accreditation status, must attend an accreditation seminar, submit forms for accreditation to USDA/APHIS Veterinary Services and be approved by the State Veterinarian. For further information, contact USDA/APHIS Veterinary Services or the Idaho State Department of Agriculture - Division of Animal Industries. Pursuant to United States Department of Agriculture Veterinary Services memorandum number 572.1, an applicant working under a supervised temporary permit will not be allowed to become federally accredited in Idaho until the first year's license has been granted.
